Persian version of the Barkin Index of Maternal Functioning (BIMF): a cross-cultural adaptation and psychometric evaluation

Abstract Background Postpartum maternal functioning has the potential to affect quality of interaction between mother and child. A proper assessment requires a comprehensive accurate tool. The objective this study was prepare Persian version Barkin Index Maternal Functioning (BIMF) evaluate its psychometric properties in order determine applicability Iranian mothers. Methods BIMF translated into then culturally adapted for women. After evaluating face content validity, perform factor analysis, cross-sectional conducted using BIMF. data collected from two unique groups 250 mothers (in all 500 mothers) who had infants 2 12-months old were selected two-stage cluster sampling method.
